Drayage truck owners, who wish to meet the requirements of the Clean Truck Program with a new or used truck or a certified retrofit, can now contact lenders that offer loans backed by The Northwest Seaport Alliance’s Clean Truck Fund.
The program aims to provide qualified truck drivers with access to market-rate loans offered by two community development financial institutions (CDFI).
If you need extra assistance, free financial counseling will be available through Sound Outreach. They will help you understand the available financial options, walk you through the process and assist you in preparing for the loan application process.
Regardless of your credit history, you are encouraged to make appointments with Sound Outreach for guidance on lending options that meet your needs.
The Clean Truck Fund is a loan program, not a grant or a ScRAPS program.
Loans backed by the Clean Truck Fund can be used to purchase one of the 10 trucks offered through Second Chance Trucks. Applications for Second Chance Trucks must be submitted by Monday, Sept. 24 at noon PST. Learn more about Second Chance Trucks.
Time is running out. The deadline for the Clean Truck Program remains Dec. 31, 2018. If your truck does not meet the 2007 air emission standards starting Jan. 1, 2019, you will not be able to access the NWSA’s international terminals.
