The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.

This week's highlights: 

  • July 26 - 27: Full closure of SB I-5 from Stewart St. to Yesler Way, traffic shifts to Express Lanes Fri 11:59 p.m. - Sat 5 a.m.
  • July 26 - 29: Montlake Blvd NE reduced to one lane in each direction at Husky Stadium, Fri 7 p.m. - Mon 5 a.m.
  • July 26 - Fall 2019: Aloha St. closed between Minor Ave N and Valley St. for detour prep, 24/7.
  • July 27: Seafair Torchlight Run and Parade will close streets in Seattle's South Lake Union, Downtown and SODO neighborhoods.Run starts at 6 p.m., Parade at 7:30 p.m.
  • July 29 - Aug. 16: John St. closed between 6th Ave N and 7th Ave N, 24/7.
  • Aug. 2 - 4: Seafair Weekend Festival.Hydro races, airshow and music & entertainment at Genesee Park along the shores of Lake Washington.
  • Aug. 2 - 4: Annual community festivals and parades in Seattle's Lake City, Magnolia and Central District neighborhoods.
  • Aug. 2 - 4: Northbound SR 99 Tunnel closure for joint and pavement repairs, Fri 11 p.m. - Sun Noon.
  • Aug. 8: Seattle Seahawks host the Denver Broncos in pre-season football.Kick off at 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Field.
