The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area.

Starting January 11th, 2021, King County is in Phase 1 of Governor Jay Inslee's "Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery" COVID-19 phased recovery plan. Accordingly, all special events and concerts have been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled until further notice, unless noted below. No spectators are allowed at College, University, or Professional sporting events.

Highlights:

  • January 22 - 23: Olive Way fully closed between 9th Ave. and Boren Ave for crane work and roadway realignment.
  • January 22: Full closure of SB I-5 at Stewart St. and ramp closures for fire suppression system maintenance. Fri 11 p.m. - Sat 5 a.m.
  • January 28 & 29: NB I-5 reduced to one lane through downtown on Thursday and Friday nights.
  • February 5: SR99 tunnel closed in both directions between SODO and South Lake Union Friday night for monthly maintenance.
