The Washington State Department of Transportation will begin tolling the SR 99 tunnel Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019. Toll rates will change based on time of day, with lower toll rates on nights and weekends. Tolls will be collected in both directions as you exit the tunnel. Tolling the new tunnel is required by the law. Tolls will help pay tunnel construction bonds as well as operation and maintenance of the two-mile long tunnel underneath downtown Seattle.
