Effective Immediately and Until Further Notice:
In an effort to lower import dwell times down from their current levels, and to continue to deliver Imports at an acceptable rate. T5 will begin accepting WHL empties tomorrow, as yard space allows, and only for drivers completing dual transactions(Empty-In / Full-Out).
T30 will begin accepting empties at the end of the week, as yard space allows, and only for drivers completing dual transactions(Empty-In / Full-Out).
T30 will be enforcing the new dual transaction requirement at the In-Gate.
Upon drivers arriving at T30 / T5 to terminate any WHL empty, drivers will be asked to provide the import container number they are assigned to pick up. If drivers do not complete the import pick-up and leave empty handed, drivers will be subject to suspension from SSA Terminals.
Drivers will not be able to terminate a WHL empty container at T30/T5, unless they are also picking up and import from T30 / T5.
Empties will be subject to refusal if the driver is not collecting an import.
Please also note,
T30 is currently working on getting Import Pick-Up Appointments implemented to help enable T30 to plan out delivery schedules and have containers available when drivers arrive.
Once this is in full effect, pre-arrivals for empties in, will require the pre-arrival for imports out in order to achieve a ‘confirmed’ status.
As a reminder: Customs Clearance, Freight Release, and Trucker Assignment needs to be completed/input before vessels arrive / discharge so the terminal can properly plan out import discharge and help expedite deliveries.
