The City of Tacoma is scheduled to begin work on the Taylor Way Rehabilitation Project starting Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Work will primarily focus on Taylor Way from East 11th Street to State Route 509.
During construction, the City of Tacoma will post updates to the Taylor Way Rehabilitation Project site. The Port of Tacoma will also help provide project updates through text and email alerts. Tentative dates and activities include:

July 7 - Site preparation/erosion control installation.

July 9 - Digging/Potholing in roadway at select locations.

July 16 – Taylor Way from E. 11th Street to Lincoln Avenue will be reduced to one northbound lane, a detour will be in place via Alexander Avenue.
- July 20 – Taylor Way from Lincoln Avenue to SR 509 will be reduced to two lanes, one lane in each direction.
Business and pedestrian access will be maintained.
No roadway work on SR 509 is planned for the near term, however, there will be some clearing activities occurring in the wooded area south of SR 509 over the next 1-2 months.
