In an attempt to normalize traffic flows on and around Harbor Island, Terminal 18 today asked drivers not to line up at gates prior to 7 a.m.

In an email to drivers and dispatchers, the terminal operator said:

Due to the current situation with the upper level West Seattle Bridge closure (8 lanes) and the subsequently dramatic increase in traffic over the both the lower West Seattle Bridge (2 lanes) and surrounding roadways, please do not send drivers to Terminal 18 before our gates open at 7 a.m.

Trucks parked in line outside of the terminal may be subject to citation or being asked to leave by law enforcement.  This additional blocking traffic also prevents labor from arriving at the terminal in a timely manner to process the gates to keep the trucks moving.

Thank you for your cooperation during this time until the normal roadways become available again.

As a reminder, trucks arriving for empty-in transactions without valid appointments will be turned away.

Thank you for doing your part to keep cargo moving in these turbulent times.

For more information please contact the terminal directly.
