The City of Tacoma is accepting appointments for voluntary Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance inspections July 13 at the Tacoma Dome.

Even if you don't get an inspection, you can learn if you qualify for incentives to replace your older truck with a newer model by visiting the ScRAPS booth at the event.

Schedule voluntary CVSA inspection

Inspection appointments are available from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome's parking lot A, 2727 East D St.

Schedule your appointment: Contact the City’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit at 253-591-5479 or cve@cityoftacoma.org.

Vehicles that pass the voluntary CVSA inspection receive a decal valid for three months that should minimize delays for roadside inspections. The program increases: convenience, safety, company safety rating and awareness of driver pre-trip inspections.

ScRAPS 2 Program

Trucks with a combined total of 200 or more trips annually to our North and South harbors may qualify for the ScRAPS 2 Program.

Operated by the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, the program helps truck owners upgrade to a cleaner truck. Eligible owners receive up to $27,000. Drayage trucks entering NWSA terminals must meet 2007 federal emissions standards by January 1, 2018
