In 2019, the NWSA launched a strategic initiative to support establishment of rail service between the NWSA and non-traditional rail hub locations, including in Eastern Washington. Regular rail service is now available from Minot, North Dakota; Pocatello, Idaho; and, most recently, Wallula, Washington. Other projects are in various stages of development. The Port of Benton has released an RFQ for a facility operator for their planned intermodal facility. While primarily serving containerized ag exports, these locations can serve imports as well. A summary of all facilities and service offerings can be found on our Inland Rail Flyer.
