New weekly service will call at SSA Marine’s Terminal 18

SM Line to Begin Calls at Northwest Seaport Alliance North HarborThe Northwest Seaport Alliance welcomes the SM Line Qingdao to its North Harbor today. The Pacific Northwest Service (PNS) will be a weekly call of six 4,300-TEU vessels at SSA Marine’s Terminal 18 on Harbor Island. The new rotation will consist of the following ports: Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vancouver, B.C., Seattle, Tokyo, Busan, Kwangyang and Yantian.

“We are proud to welcome SM Line to our family of steamship lines calling at The Northwest Seaport Alliance,” said Courtney Gregoire, Port of Seattle commission president and co-chair of The Northwest Seaport Alliance. “This new weekly service and the cargo it brings means jobs and revenue for our region.”

The weekly service provides additional capacity to the Seattle-Tacoma gateway and another carrier option for shippers, along with additional direct ports of call including south and central China; Korea for imports; and Japan and Korea for exports. SM Line, headquartered in Busan, Korea, is part of SM Group, of which this shipping division was founded in 2016. More information on SM Group can be found here: https://smlines.com/en/smgroup.php.
