<p>October’s full load import and export volumes recorded the strongest for the month since 2012. Year to date, imports and exports for October continue to support a strong peak season for the NWSA, with an 11 percent increase and 16 percent increase, respectively.</p> <p>To support this peak shipping season’s strong agricultural exports, the NWSA has lengthened the extended gates program through Dec. 2. The main commodities moving through our gateway are hay, forest products, and fruits and vegetables.</p>

<p>The Northwest Seaport Alliance has lengthened the extended gates program through Friday, Dec. 2, to support this peak shipping season’s strong agricultural exports.  </p> <p>“Based on the positive feedback we received from our customers, we are pleased to offer three additional weeks of the extended gate program, which was set to conclude on Nov. 11,” said Dustin Stoker, NWSA chief operations officer.</p>

<p>The Northwest Seaport Alliance’s managing members have scheduled two public meetings to consider the alliance’s 2017 budget and finance plan.</p> <p>The first budget meeting on Oct. 18 will include an in-depth look at the 2017 operating budget, capital building plans and finance plan. Managing members will invite public comment at this meeting.</p> <p>People are encouraged to attend the Oct. 18 meeting to hear how the NWSA’s budget is formed and provide input before the budget is adopted at the Nov. 1 meeting.</p>
